Anne W. Burrell was TV personality and ex-chef at the Institute of Culinary Education and previously taught cooking. Anne Burrell. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host with spiky blond hair and an ebullient personality, explains how to cook restaurant-style dishes at home, using easy methods. Burrell is a chef who has been in the kitchen for a long time. Burrell is also a seasoned veteran of New York City's best restaurants. She has also studied Italy's culinary tradition and the culture of Italy, as well as the environment. When she was a kid in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was attracted by the food. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step following her graduation with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Communication from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was a wonderful opportunity for me. It was impossible to take enough out of it. Following graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany as well as La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) during her time at Umbria. She also attended the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. She gained a deeper appreciation of Italian culture and cuisine throughout her time in Italy that has informed the way she cooks. Burrell is a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which brightens children living with obstacles and is also an Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Celebrity Ambassador. she advocates for children with diabetes and awareness. She travels frequently around the country in her role in the capacity of mentor and guest speaker where she discusses her work and passion for cooking. Anne, throughout her entire culinary journey has stated that it is a privilege to be in a position to share her passion for the food industry with people.
