Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic singer, composer and performer. The singer combines jazz from the soul genre with R&B to create a unique mixture. She has performed on Broadway as well as during the Democratic National Convention and in European festivals and clubs. Sunshine Her real name was Denise White. Even though she lives in Atlanta currently, she is originally from Chester Pennsylvania. In Chester Pennsylvania she started out as a musician playing and singing at the local church. After graduation from Spellman College, Atlanta she began her musical journey on the Atlanta's R&B culture. She was appointed as the primary keyboardist in Tyler Perry's musical Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday, who won Tony and Grammy Awards for her singing and her music, invited Sunshine to sing in the Dreamgirls production at the Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine became the focus of interest during four consecutive shows at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was later invited to sing during the inauguration of President Obama in 2009.
